EAA in force since 28 June 2025
Show your accessibility work, not just promise it.
Allyfolio scans your website on a schedule, tracks every issue over time and keeps a timestamped evidence trail – so you can prove real progress towards the EAA and the German BFSG.

Why now
The EAA has applied since 28 June 2025
New legal requirements
Since 28 June 2025, the European Accessibility Act – in Germany the BFSG – requires many consumer-facing digital services, such as online shops, to be accessible.
Hard to show progress
One-off audits go stale with every release. Small teams need an ongoing, documented record of what they tested, what they found and what they fixed.
Overlays are not the answer
"One line of code" widgets do not fix the underlying markup and can get in the way of assistive technology. Real fixes happen in your code.
Timeline
The EAA at a glance
Key dates of the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882).
Adopted
The EU adopts the European Accessibility Act on 17 April 2019.
Transposition deadline
Member states had to pass national laws – in Germany the BFSG.
Now
Applies
Requirements apply to products placed on the market and services provided from this date.
Transition ends
End of the transitional period for service contracts concluded before 28 June 2025 and for products already used to provide services.
Self-service terminals already in use may continue until the end of their economic life, up to 20 years. This is not legal advice.
Who is affected
Consumer-facing digital services
The EAA covers many products and services for consumers, for example:
- Online shops
- Banking services
- E-books
- Passenger transport
- Electronic communications
- Self-service terminals
Microenterprise exemption
- Fewer than 10 staff
- Annual turnover or balance sheet total of no more than €2 million
- Providing services (not products)
All conditions must apply. Not legal advice.
How it works
From first scan to lasting evidence
Step 1: Add your site
Choose the pages and user journeys that matter most.
Step 2: Scheduled scans
Real browsers (Playwright) run axe-core checks weekly or daily.
Step 3: Fix and review
Prioritised issues with code hints, plus a checklist for the manual review that automation cannot do.
Step 4: Keep the evidence
Timestamped history, PDF reports and a draft accessibility statement.
Allyfolio checks automatically
Colour contrast, missing labels, missing alt attributes, ARIA misuse
Needs people
Meaningful alt text, focus order, clear and understandable content
~57%
of accessibility issues are found by automated testing, roughly (Deque study). We say so upfront.
Honest limits: automated testing finds roughly 57% of accessibility issues, according to a Deque study of automated testing coverage. The rest – such as meaningful alt text, logical focus order and understandable content – needs manual review by people.
Features
Everything you need to show your work
Scheduled monitoring
Catch regressions after every release, not months later.
Timestamped audit trail
A dated record of every scan, fix and manual review note.
Draft accessibility statements
A structured starting point based on your results, for you to review.
Evidence reports
Clear PDF reports for management, clients or authorities.
Built for agencies
Manage many client sites and send white-label reports.
No overlay, ever
Nothing is injected into your site. We help you fix the source.

Does Allyfolio make my website meet the EAA?
No tool can do that on its own. Allyfolio finds the issues automated testing can detect, tracks them over time and keeps a timestamped record of your progress. Automated testing catches roughly 57% of accessibility issues (Deque study); the rest needs manual review by people. We help you plan that review, we do not replace it.
Is this an overlay widget?
No. Allyfolio never injects scripts into your site. Overlays try to patch problems in the visitor's browser and are widely criticised by disabled users and accessibility experts. We help you fix the actual code.
Does the EAA apply to my business?
The European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025 to many consumer-facing products and services, including e-commerce, banking and e-books. Microenterprises providing services – fewer than 10 staff and an annual turnover or balance sheet of no more than €2 million – are exempt from the service requirements. Check your situation with a legal adviser.
What is the BFSG?
The Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz is Germany's national law implementing the EAA. It also applies from 28 June 2025.
What do you test with?
Real browsers driven by Playwright, running the open-source axe-core engine against the pages you choose, on a schedule you set.
Is Allyfolio legal advice?
No. Allyfolio is a testing and documentation tool. Draft accessibility statements are a starting point for you to review and adapt.
